The World's Most Comprehensive List of Food Blogs in The Greater Los Angeles Area and Orange County

As a service to our dear readers (I think there's 4 of you), The Hungry Ghost Kid presents The World's (and possibly the Galaxy's*) Most Comprehensive List of Food Blogs in the Greater Los Angeles Area and Orange County.

That's right! Only here at our esteemed blog can you get this list. If the blog isn't posted here it doesn't exist, or at least it shouldn't lol. Just kidding! This is a work in progress, so feel free to submit any blogs I have missed.

The only criteria is that the blogs must be (1) about food and/or drink primarily and (2) based in the Los Angeles area or Orange County. I'm not going to be a blog snob and exclude any blogs based on the quality of writing, type of establishments reviewed or the frequency of postings.** I'm even going to include blogs that no longer post because you may find some gems in the archives.*** Eventually, I'll add short descriptions.

So here goes!

Acme Instant Food
Started by Kevin Smalley to organize his kitchen, this food blog documents his "intuitive approach" to cooking. Serious Eats has a nice writeup here. Dates of Activity: 4/06 to 3/09.

Adventures of Jennifer Ko
Jen loves food and nail art! Check out her food adventures and admire her glittery, sparkly nails. Dates of Activity: 5/09 to present.

Afishionado
Written by a pescatarian Chinese gal, native San Diegan and long-time resident of Orange County. Dates of Activity: 10/7 to 9/08.

Alli411
Alli is "just a girl" who loves food, writes part-time for Go2 and likes to review "new, hot" restaurants in Los Angeles. Her beautiful vintage hacienda kitchen was recently featured on Apartment Therapy.

All Kinds of Yum
Written by a Jewish gal named Tannaz. She is a visual effects geek and also has an obsession with linquistics.

Amy's LA Wine Blog
The Carrie Bradshaw of the LA wine world, Amy spent $13,846.37 on wine in 2006! Enough said!

Anything Except Rice
Apparently doesn't like white rice. This person wrote two posts in the summer of 2008 and then called it quits lol.

BBQ Junkie
This very well-designed and professional looking site is about all things BBQ.

Beer Blah Blog
Written by Justin Sloe who "kicks it" in LA. Justin has drinken a crapload of beer in the last three years and reviews each brew on a 100-point scale.

Best of LA
Once a Japanese Strawberry Shortcake, Bola's all grown up now and calls LA her "metropolitan jungle gym". A native Angeleno, she started blogging to "remember and relive Los Angeles memories."

Big Mouth Eats LA
Big Mouth is apparently a little Asian girl who wears a daisy in her hair and likes cherries. She has a cute, well-designed site and rates restaurants on a scale of 1 to 10. Most of her reviews are in the San Gabriel Valley. Dates of Activity: 2/09 to 4/09.

Bites and Bolts
BB's "culinary and mechanical adventures" range from eating cupcakes at Sprinkles to watching Formula D drifting events.

Candy Blog
The blog must be written by the devil himself! Just kidding, it's written by Cybele May, a playwright who loves candy of course. She posts about all kinds of wonderful, tasty treats. I feel diabetic just reading her page, in a good way.

Chow Balla
Written by former Eater LA editor Lesley Balla. According to FishbowlLA, Lesley was also "the dining editor for LA.com and restaurant editor for Citysearch". She now helms TastingTable Los Angeles, a daily e-mail newsletter on dining destinations.

Chubby Panda
Chubby Panda loves cooking and will kick your ass! In addition to being an expert on the OC dining scene, this "American of Taiwanese extraction" is a skilled practitioner of Japanese swordsmanship, hand-to-hand fighting styles, and the use of ballistic weaponry.

Colleen Cuisine
Previously described by the LA Times as a "chatty, personal restaurant-review blog. Very fond of Pinkberry." Dates of Activity: 2/06 to 8/07.

Colorado Chow
By an Eagle Rock blogger about dining on Colorado Blvd. and vicinity, including Glendale, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, Arcadia, Monrovia. Dates of Activity: 2/06 to 4/08.

Confessions of a Tart
Written by Irene, a gal of Russian-Jewish descent. Her blog focuses on cooking food that is "unfussy, non-pretentious, satisfying and delicious" and features beautiful, professional-looking photos. Read more about Irene at Look and Taste, where she was a featured blogger.

Cork and Rind
This is the personal blog of Kat Odell, the current editor of Eater LA. Kat formerly worked for Bon Appetit and enjoys hosting interactive dinner parties and cooking classes.

Daily Dish
The LA Time's inside scoop on food in Los Angeles.

Daily Gluttony
Daily Gluttony is one of the matron saints of LA food blogging. An original gangsta, DG was blogging about the LA food scene long before it was cool. Known for her funny and candid writing style, she inspired bloggers like Eat Drink & Be Merry, Oiishi Eats and Food Marathon. She's also one of the first bloggers that Little Ghost read. She now writes under her new site: Rants and Craves.

Deep End Dining
Eddie Lin delights in eating the weird and extraordinary, like brain tacos, duck fetuses and roast pig faces! Eddie is a regular on KCRW's Good Food show and has also been featured on The Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern.
